ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE
The District has only one county and 7 rural Sub-counties and 1 town council. The District constitutes of 46 parishes, 6 wards and 302 village councils, distributed as in Burunga Sub-County covers most of the district area with an estimated land area of 328 sq.km, followed by Rwemikoma Sub-County, which has an estimated land area of 277 sq. m, Kazo with a land area of 242 sq.km Buremba with a land area of 189 sq.km, Engari sub-county with a land area of 173 sq.km, Nkungu Sub-County with a land area of 161sq.m, Kazo town council with a land area of 106 sq.km and lastly Kanoni Sub-County with 81 sq.km
