Kazo District Commissions New Classroom Blocks to empower education
Kazo District Local Government has officially commissioned the construction of two new classroom blocks, an office and a store at Ibaare II Primary School in Kyampangara Subcounty. The commissioning ceremony was led by the Resident District Commissioner, Captain Yahaya Kakoza alongside the LC5 Chairperson, Rev. Samuel Mugisha Katugunda and Chief Administrative Officer, Hajji Badru Mayanja Salongo heading the technical team.
During the event, Captain Kakoza expressed gratitude to the President of Uganda for his contributions to peace and development in the country. He urged parents to take an active role in safeguarding the school’s facilities, highlighting the importance of community ownership.
Rev. Samuel Mugisha Katugunda, the LC5 chairman, also addressed the attendees, thanking the people of Kyampangara and Kiguma for their support of government initiatives. He emphasized the importance of inclusivity in education, insisting that the headmaster of the school should refrain from expelling pupils over school fees, a practice he deemed unacceptable.
The chief administrative officer, Hajji Badru Mayanja Salongo, commended the contractors and engineers for their exemplary work, and he called on parents to actively support their children’s education. Additionally, he urged all schools in Kazo District to educate students about the importance of HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention.
In a related development, a similar commissioning ceremony took place at Kiguma Primary School, where area Members of Parliament were in attendance.
Hon. Dan Atwijukire Kimosho expressed his appreciation to the residents of Burunga Sub County and Kazo district for their ongoing support of government initiatives, promising continued developments in the area.
Hon. Jennifer Muhesi also spoke at the event, encouraging the people of Kazo District to maintain their support for the ruling government and highlighting the collaborative efforts aimed at fostering development.
Each of these significant projects carries a price tag of 128 million Ugandan shillings, reflecting the district's commitment to improving educational infrastructure.
