Kazo District Water Extension Workers Receive Smartphones to Enhance Service Delivery
Water extension workers in Kazo District have received smartphones from the Ministry of Water and Environment to support their fieldwork and improve service delivery.
The handover ceremony took place at the District Headquarters in the CAO’s gardens and was presided over by the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Hajji Badru Mayanja Majwala.
Before distributing the devices, CAO Mayanja chaired a fourth-quarter review meeting attended by extension workers from all sub-counties in Kazo. During the meeting, he urged the workers to utilize the smartphones effectively to improve their reporting and communication, which in turn will enhance access to clean water across the district.
Hajji Mayanja reiterated his commitment to ensuring that all areas of Kazo District have access to clean and safe water. He also emphasized the need to repair existing boreholes and improve sanitation practices, such as regular handwashing and the construction of latrines, to combat the spread of diseases in the community.
In addition, the CAO encouraged the extension workers to play a key role in sensitizing the public on the prevention of HIV/AIDS, highlighting the importance of awareness in safeguarding public health.
These remarks were made as the CAO listened to performance reports presented by the extension workers from the various sub-counties.
Engineer Tugume Julius, the District Water Officer, assured the public that efforts are ongoing to supply clean water to the remaining underserved villages. He affirmed that the district is committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure every community has access to safe water.
The extension workers expressed their gratitude upon receiving the smartphones, stating that the devices will greatly enhance their efficiency and ability to serve the community better.
