Kazo District Leadership Monitors the Construction of Seed Schools
Kazo District local government officials have conducted site visits to oversee the ongoing construction of facilities at two seed schools in the district. The assessment was led by Chief Administrative Officer Hajji Badru Mayanja Majwala together with Kazo District Resident District Commissioner Capt Yahaya Kakooza and District Speaker Dan Nahura Bwamunyoga.
The two schools being monitored are Burunga Seed School located in Burunga Sub-county and Kyantumo Seed School situated in Kazo Sub-county. The construction of these schools is a significant initiative with Burunga Seed School's project valued at 2.543 billion Ugandan Shillings and being executed by Kaleeta Construction Limited Meanwhile Kyantumo Seed School's construction is a 3.547 billion Shilling project undertaken by Hanan Contractors Uganda Limited.
During the site visits, the Chief Administrative Officer Mayanja urged both contractors to adhere to quality standards and timelines in their work. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with the North Ankole Diocese and reaffirmed the district's commitment to monitoring the projects closely to ensure successful implementation.
Resident District Commissioner Capt Yahaya Kakooza encouraged community members to support the ongoing work and assured them that he would keep a vigilant eye on the construction efforts to prevent any substandard work.
The district Speaker Hon. Dan Bwamunyoga who represented the LC5 Chairperson , expressed gratitude for the positive relationship between the political and technical departments within the district. He cautioned contractors about meeting quality expectations and completing the projects on schedule.
This construction initiative is funded by the World Bank under the Inter-Governmental Fiscal Transfer Program (UgIFT), a program designed to enhance the adequacy and equity of fiscal transfers and improve fiscal management of resources by local governments for health and education services.
