UCE 2025 Exams Begin Smoothly Nationwide, Kazo District Records Peaceful Start

The 2025 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations officially commenced on Monday, October 13, 2025 with candidates across the country sitting for their first written papers as scheduled by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).

The national exams began with Geography Paper One in the morning, followed by the Biology Theory Paper in the afternoon. According to UNEB, the first day of examinations proceeded smoothly across all registered centers.

In Kazo district, the start of the exams was described as peaceful and well-organized. Mwiine Lamech, the District Education Officer, confirmed that all schools in the area began on time without any hindrances. He urged head teachers to avoid sending away any candidates during the examination period, advising that any disciplinary or financial issues be handled after results are released.

During spot checks by journalists, district education officials and school administrators expressed optimism about the candidates’ performance.

Gordon Mutabazi, deputy head teacher of Kazo Secondary School and Cyprian Beinomugisha, Deputy headteacher of St. Catherine Girls’ School both located in Kazo Town Council, commended their students for showing confidence and preparedness. They noted that the learners appeared calm and ready to excel in the ongoing exams.

Several candidates interviewed also shared positive sentiments, saying their first papers went well and that they are determined to achieve strong results.

As the examinations continue nationwide, UNEB and education authorities have emphasized vigilance, fairness and support to ensure a smooth process and credible outcomes.
