Kazo District Speaker Holds Thanksgiving as Leaders Praise Development at Kyantumo SS

The District Speaker of Kazo District Local Government, Dan Nahurira Bwamunyoga on Sunday held a Thanksgiving ceremony at Kyantumo Secondary School in Ntambazi Parish, Kazo Subcounty. The service was led by Rev. Canon Emmanuel Katamunanwire who delivered a sermon under the theme “Wealth for Purpose,” drawing from 2 Corinthians 9:7–9.

Rev. Canon Katamunanwire thanked the congregation for turning up from across the district and commended both the technical and political leadership of Kazo District for supporting the development of Kyantumo Secondary School. He also appreciated the family of George Bwamunyoga for their contribution toward the growth of the area.

In his remarks, Speaker Bwamunyoga thanked God and the Government of Uganda for the significant progress made in Kyantumo, especially the ongoing construction works at the secondary school. He expressed gratitude to the people of Kazo subcounty for cooperating with him as their district councillor and he acknowledged the district leadership led by LC5 Chairperson Rev. Samuel Mugisha Katugunda and the technical team headed by Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Hajji Badru Mayanja Majwala for their commitment to completing the school project.

Bwamunyoga pledged that the construction works would be completed before the end of this year. He also donated a bull, which the chief guest bought as part of his thanksgiving. He noted that all proceeds from the event would go toward completing the remaining projects at the school.

Kyantumo Seed School opened on 1 February 2016 with only Senior One and Senior Two classes, operating out of two borrowed classrooms at Kyantumo Primary School and enrolling just 24 students. The Government of Uganda has since developed the school into a fully-fledged institution, now boasting an administration block, modern science and ICT laboratories, a two-in-one staff house, a multipurpose hall, two classroom blocks, and four VIP latrines.

The head teacher, Mr. Isaac Akandwanaho, reported that the school currently has 200 students, 103 boys and 77 girls.

Former Minister Hon. Molly Kamukama thanked the government and Kyantumo community for supporting the NRM, adding that Kazo district deserves two constituencies due to its growing population.

Area Member of Parliament Hon. Dan Atwijukire Kimosho also praised the government for its continued support toward the development of Kazo district, citing Kyantumo Secondary School as a clear testimony. He contributed UGX 5 million and highlighted key achievements he has attained as MP, urging residents to continue supporting President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the NRM government in future elections.
