NRM Leaders in Kazo Pledge 100% Vote for President Museveni Ahead of 2026 Elections

Leaders of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Kazo district have vowed to deliver a 100% vote for President Yoweri Museveni in the 2026 general elections as preparations intensify for his anticipated visit to the district on 28th November 2025.

The pledge was made on Monday during an NRM mobilization meeting held at KAN Conference Hall in Kazo Town Council. The meeting was chaired by the district NRM chairperson, Nkeija Wilson and attended by church leaders, district political and technical officials, taxi operators, bodaboda riders and NRM flag bearers.
Nkeija emphasized the need for heightened mobilization, urging party leaders to surpass the district’s previous performance in the presidential elections.

“Our target is to get the highest percentage in the whole country,” he said. “We must intensify our mobilization efforts to ensure the President receives even more support than he did in the last elections. The 2026 vote must set a new benchmark.”
He called on NRM flag bearers and grassroots mobilisers to remain fully committed and ensure no voter is left unengaged.

Representing the RDC, Deputy RDC Mugisha Paddy echoed the message of unity and teamwork.

“Teamwork is key if we are to deliver victory for all NRM candidates and President Museveni,” he said. “Let us support one another and work together as a strong and organized team.”

In the 2021 general elections, President Museveni secured 98.4% of the vote in Kazo District. With the new mobilisation strategy, Kazo NRM leaders are confident they can surpass that record and deliver what they describe as a near-unanimous endorsement.

District mobilization activities are expected to continue over the coming weeks as the leaders prepare for the President’s visit and the upcoming campaign season.

The LC5 Chairperson, Rev. Samuel Mugisha Katugunda, urged residents to prepare wholeheartedly for the visit.

“We must welcome the President in a special way and thank him for the great things he has done for Kazo,” he said.

Hon. Molly Nawe Kamukama, the Woman MP NRM flag bearer, also called for teamwork to strengthen mobilization efforts district wide.

Meanwhile, district leaders noted that mobilization for NRM has been ongoing at the grassroots, led by Hon. Atwijukire Kimosho who is actively campaigning for both the party and President Museveni. Kimosho, who recently mobilized in Kyampangara Sub County, has repeatedly told residents that delivering 100% for President Museveni should be their gift of appreciation for his longstanding service to Uganda and Kazo.

Residents across the district are eagerly awaiting the President’s visit. Many consider Kazo to have a special historical attachment to President Museveni who once served as a teacher in the area before joining politics.
