Kazo Records Peaceful 2026 PLE as 3,956 Candidates Complete Exams

Kazo district local government has successfully concluded the 2026 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), with no major incidents or complaints reported during the two-day examination period.

The examinations were conducted on Tuesday, November 3, and Wednesday, November 4, following preparations and coordination among district education officials, head teachers, examination supervisors, security personnel and other stakeholders.

According to the Kazo District Education Department, a total of 3,956 candidates registered for the examinations, comprising 1,804 boys and 2,152 girls.

The district had 77 examination centres, of which 68 were designated as seating centres.

The Senior Inspector of Schools in Kazo district, Mackline Bamwine, said all examination centres received the examination materials on time and candidates started their papers as scheduled.

Bamwine said the exercise was conducted smoothly across the district, adding that no major challenges had been reported.

She thanked parents for supporting their children throughout the examination period and urged them to continue protecting and guiding the candidates during the long holiday as they wait for their results.

She encouraged parents to prepare their children for the next stage of education, including joining secondary schools and other institutions once the results are released.

The District Education Officer, Mwiine Lamech Mirembe, also appreciated the district leadership for its support in ensuring the successful administration of the examinations.

He recognised the contributions of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), the District Executive Committee, the District Internal Security Officer (DISO), the education department and the District Inspector of Schools.

Mirembe further commended head teachers and teachers for preparing learners for the examinations, as well as chief invigilators, invigilators and scouts for carrying out their responsibilities professionally and without reported incidents.

He also thanked parents for the support they provided to their children throughout the academic year.

Meanwhile, Kazo District Chief Administrative Officer Hajji Badru Mayanja Majwala commended the cooperation and commitment demonstrated by all stakeholders, saying their teamwork contributed to the peaceful conduct of the examinations.

He said the district appreciated the vigilance and professionalism of the teams responsible for ensuring that examination materials were securely handled and candidates sat their papers in a peaceful environment.

Mayanja also warned head teachers and other education stakeholders against engaging in examination malpractice, cautioning that anyone found participating in such practices would face disciplinary action.

He urged candidates to remain vigilant, protect their lives and avoid activities that could put their safety at risk during the holiday.

He further called on parents to spend more time with their children at home, guide them and involve them in productive household activities as they wait to join secondary school.

The Kazo District LC5 Chairperson, Rev. Samuel Mugisha Katugunda, congratulated all learners who completed their PLE and encouraged them to remain disciplined, useful to their parents and avoid aimless movements during the holiday.

Katugunda thanked parents, head teachers and teachers for their contribution to educating children in the district.

He also expressed concern over school leaders and teachers who allegedly chase pupils away from school, saying his focus was on addressing such practices to ensure that children are given the opportunity to access education.

The successful conclusion of the 2026 PLE in Kazo marks the end of the primary school examination cycle for the candidates, who now await the release of their results and the opportunity to progress to the next level of education.
