Mukunguru community valley tank

Government of Uganda through Ministry of Water and Environment through Water for Production Regional center west has completed and handed over Mukunguru community valley tank to Kazo District Local Government.

The project was started on the 10th August 2020, completed 1st April 2021 and handed over to the beneficiaries on 17th August 2022. 

The project comprises of an excavated reservoir of capacity 18,000m3, has a pump control room, Solar powered pump and panels, two 10,000ltr plastic tanks on a 2 meter tank tower, a transmission and distribution pipe lines, 2 stance VIP latrine, and 3 cattle troughs.

The project was constructed with multipurpose reservoirs for irrigation, livestock, watering and fisheries aimed at improving livelihoods for people and creating better access to water for livestock to increase productivity. Mukunguru Valley tank is designed and expected to serve a population of over 300 residents in Buremba sub-county, Kazo district.

The commissioning function was graced by the RDC, Al-Hajji Umar Mawiya Lule, the deputy RDC Tumukurate Silvester, Rev. Samuel Mugisha Katugunda, the district LC V Chairman, David Muhwezi, the Deputy CAO Kazo district, several other members of the district technical committee, local leaders and area residents.

The area residents appreciated government and Ministry of Water especially the staff that was in charge of this project.
